Gold, silver price today, October 3, 2024: Yellow metal records dip, silver trades higher on MCX

Precious metals showed mixed trends in the Indian markets today. Gold is trading on the lower side of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) while silver prices have recorded a hike on Thursday, October 3.
Gold futures, maturing on December 5, 2024, stood at Rs 76,125 per 10 grams, after recording a dip of Rs 265 or 0.35 per cent. The previous close was recorded at Rs 76,390.
Meanwhile, silver futures, due on December 5, 2024, witnessed a hike of Rs 382 or 0.42 per cent and were retailing at Rs 91,757 per kg on the MCX against the previous close of Rs 91,375.

The price of gold varies for different regions in the country based on certain parameters such as the excise duty, making charges and the state taxes.
GOLD, SILVER PRICES IN INTERNATIONAL MARKET
Gold prices were trading in a tight range on Thursday as traders remained on the sidelines ahead of a key U.S. economic data that may provide clues about the size of the Federal Reserve’s interest rate cuts expected later this year, news agency Reuters reported.
According to the latest metal report, spot gold was flat at $2,655.03 per ounce by 0333 GMT, while, U.S. gold futures gained 0.2% to $2,675.40.
Among other precious metals, spot silver fell 0.9% to $31.58.
